What is My Beloved Keepsakes?

My Beloved Keepsakes is a small, heart‑led business in Galway, creating handcrafted memory bears and keepsakes from cherished clothing. Every piece is made with care, respect, and a deep understanding of how meaningful these garments can be — whether they belong to a baby, a loved one who has passed, or someone whose uniform represents years of dedication and identity.

What kinds of keepsakes do you make?

I transform meaningful garments into lasting, handcrafted pieces such as:

If you’re unsure what might work best, you’re always welcome to share what you have, and I’ll guide you gently through the options.

What should I know before ordering?

By placing an order, you’re giving permission for me to cut and work with the clothing you send. I use my judgement for fabric placement unless you’ve shared specific requests.

Each bear is a unique, handcrafted piece. Because they are decorative keepsakes, they cannot be CE approved and are not suitable for children under 14.

There is never any rush. You’re welcome to reach out whenever the moment feels right.

How many ties do I need for a Keepsake Cushion?

Most families send 3–5 ties, which gives enough fabric for a balanced, meaningful design.

If you’d like a cushion made entirely from ties, 8–12 ties usually offer plenty of choice.

If you only have one special tie, that is absolutely fine. A simple, elegant design can be created from a single piece.

There is no right or wrong amount — whatever feels right for your family is enough.

What uniform items can be used?

Shirts, jumpers, ties, blouses, trousers, skirts, and soft outer layers all work well.

Logos, badges, pockets, and small details can be included if they are safe to sew.

How many items do I need?

For most keepsakes:

Bears or cushions: 4–6 items
Blankets: 6–10 items

If you have fewer pieces, that’s completely fine — I can work with whatever feels appropriate.

Can you include badges or insignia?

Yes, as long as they’re safe to sew. I can place them thoughtfully within the design.

What if I only have a few items?

There is no minimum. Many families have only one or two pieces that hold deep meaning. I will always work gently with whatever you have.

Will anything be cut that shouldn’t be?

Never. Anything too significant can be kept aside, and any unused items are always returned to you.

If you’re unsure about certain pieces, you’re welcome to send them all — I’ll check everything carefully and only use what feels right.

Is there any time pressure?

No. There is no deadline and no expectation. You can get in touch whenever you feel ready, whether that’s soon or much later.

How do I send the clothing to you?

You’re welcome to drop items to my studio in Furbo, Galway or post them from anywhere in Ireland. Once you get in touch, I’ll guide you through the simplest and safest way to send your garments.

How long does the process take?

Timeframes vary depending on the number of orders in progress.

When you reach out, I’ll share the current turnaround time and keep you updated gently throughout the process.

Can I request specific details or placement?

Yes. If there are particular elements you’d love included — a pocket, a logo, a tiny detail — just let me know. If you’re unsure, I’m happy to design the layout for you with care and balance.

What happens to leftover fabric?

Any unused pieces are returned to you unless you prefer otherwise.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes. E‑gift vouchers are available and make a thoughtful gift for families who may want to choose their keepsake in their own time.

Are memory bears safe for children?

Memory bears are decorative keepsakes and are not toys.

They cannot be CE approved and are not suitable for children under 14.

They are designed to be held, displayed, and cherished — not played with.

Can you work with delicate or older fabrics?

Yes. Many garments arrive well‑loved or fragile.

I’ll assess each piece gently and let you know what’s possible.

If something is too delicate, I’ll offer alternatives that still honour the meaning behind it.

What if I’m not sure which keepsake to choose?

You’re welcome to share a photo of the clothing or tell me a little about the person or memory behind it.

I’ll guide you gently toward the keepsake that feels right for you.
